Therapy with Melinda
It's in the past, so why can't I get over it? Am I broken or just doing this to myself? Who even am I now? There's so much suffering in the world, what difference do I make?
If you lie awake at night with these racing thoughts, a pit in your stomach, and pressure in your chest, reach out.
Life is messy, so bring your full, messy self to therapy. We'll laugh, swear, rage at injustice, and mourn loss together. We'll figure out what's actually behind the humor, intellectualizing, people pleasing, defensiveness, and the things you're ashamed of doing.
We'll learn what needs you were trying to meet, what worked, what didn't, what (sometimes unfortunately) still works. We'll find new strategies to meet your needs so that you have choices instead of old patterns. We'll also explore how your identities and values shape your experience and how to use them to create a sense of joy and connection.
I bring a genuine curiosity and enthusiasm that makes trauma therapy surprisingly fun, but also an acute awareness of the scars that trauma, oppression, and adversity leave. My ultimate goal for you is a meaningful life worth living; a life you'll look back on with wonder and gratitude for what you created.
